About Us
I first thought of starting PRELOVED PERFECTION a few years ago, when I realised that my collection of designer clothing, shoes, plus a considerable collection of handbags and accessories was out of hand. And if my wardrobe was overflowing, I was certain that many other women were in the same situation. I wanted to find a modern, fresh approach to the online purchase of pre-owned clothes, handbags, shoes, jewellery and accessories with the focus on great customer service. I want to honour the magic of the fashion industry and play a part in making this planet a more sustainable place to live. By recycling our previously much-loved clothes we are all part of the rich circle of life.
My route to PRELOVED PERFECTION
I started my career in fashion journalism on the industry trade bible, Draper’s Record in 1978, before moving on to work for the Daily Mirror, Woman’s Journal and Miss London magazine. In 1981 I joined the Daily Mail as deputy fashion editor. At 26 I was promoted and became the youngest Fashion Editor of a national newspaper at that time. I was the Fashion and Style Editor of the Mail for 10 years, before leaving to pursue a successful freelance career as a journalist working for the Sunday Times Style supplement, Tatler, where I became the Lifestyle Editor for six years as well as writing for various international publications. During this time I ran a fashion consultancy business working primarily for the Arcadia Group where I was responsible for constant trend updates, overseeing the design content of the Principles and Racing Green collections and styling PR and window campaigns. I still work for several Daily newspapers, Platinum magazine and over the last six years I worked on the Voice television programme as seamstress to the contestants. My first book for the Vogue Essentials series entitled Heels, was published in 2019. It is a fair summation to say I adore every single aspect of fashion and style.
